WELCOME to System Dynamics 101 - Spring Session I - MBA 645

 WELCOME to System Dynamics 101.

This blog, THE WALL, will be our vehicle to communicate with one another throughout the 7 weeks of this course. First, of all, please introduce yourselves. Second, post your 2  to 3 person teams. Third, post any questions or concerns you might have.

That third point is critical: this forum will serve as our way to grow experience and understanding of the models we will be building and interpreting all term. Be sure to encourage one another daily -- while it is still today!

Thanks,

Bill

  2. Hi folks! My name is Wyatt Madej, and I'm in my 4th semester of the MBA programming, working towards an MBA with a concentration in Data Analytics. I currently work in Manhattan's ITS department as a system engineer, where I lead the maintenance of our computer labs, work to develop cyberinfrastructure resources for research, such as research network access, high performance computing resources, and am leading ITS' National Science Foundation Grant for our campus network re-architecture.

I'm excited to learn about new ways of strategic problem solving and management, as my work entails a hefty amount of strategy and management of both long term and short term problems and solutions.

If you'd like to be on a team with me, feel free to email me at wyatt@manhattan.edu.

  6. Welcome Somesh! We should put together a system dynamics accounting model! Perhaps a partnership model?
Wayne, you might be interested in a maintenance model (corrective and preventative) I worked on at a utility's IT SCADA operations.
Ariana, I might still have an operational risk model we used with several banks when the 2008 crash hit us.
And we only have 7 weeks! There should be a notify me check box at the bottom of the comments to alert you when someone publishes a comment or post. Thanks!

  7. And Kaylie, I was thinking about modeling the data analytics process itself with perceptions included from the consumer of the analytics product. Perhaps we can take one of Alin's exercises from 427 as an example? None of these models need be too complicated!
